Local Love For RBC & Co Boutique

Everyone knows that I love local, and when I stumbled upon local online boutique, RBC & Company, I instantly fell head over heels!
They sell everything from skirts, to dresses, to jumpsuits, to jewelry.
Their clothing is feminine, elegant, and on-trend!
Not only that, but the colors and patterns of each piece coordinate perfectly with the next!
Basically the entire boutique can be mixed and matched, so it's easy to find a full head-to-toe look in one place!
...
I styled a spring look with their "Debby Blouse" & "Taylor Skirt", because everyone knows I'll take a skirt over pants any day!
Their black "Debby Blouse" has a silky feel with the most adorable lace cap sleeves.
It has a V-shaped neckline and tiny button closure in the back.
I tucked it into the skirt so I would have a defined waistline.
Their baby blue midi "Taylor Skirt" has a super soft and flowy satin feel with a tiny leopard print.
The dark black blouse against the bright baby blue skirt made for a beautiful contrast!
The best part about these pieces?
They can be styled separately in a million different ways, for almost any season!
Add a leather jacket like I did, or a cozy cardigan when it's cold.
Dress the blouse up with a pair dress pants and a blazer, or dress it down with denim shorts or jeans.
The possibilities are endless!
So who is the face behind this brilliant boutique?
Her name is Mallory, and she started RBC & Co. only 9 months ago!
She's an elementary school teacher with a passion for fashion.
RBC & Co. was inspired by her own desire to find trendy & feminine clothing that was also appropriate for work.
It's important to her that women feel confident in clothing that is also fully functional.
So what does Mallory have to say about opening her own boutique?
"I am truly blown away with how much love & support I've received in the short 9 months RBC has been open.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my dream.
You are amazing!"
...
Check out RBC & Co. online, on Instagram, and Facebook, and remember to support small & local favorites!
...
Wishing everyone mental, physical, and emotional health & wellness in these trying times!

My Essential Bling

I'm sure you all know that this girl loves her bling.
If the name of my blog hasn't clued you in, then this is me exclaiming "bring on the bling!"
In my mind, an outfit isn't complete until you accessorize it.
I'm talking about watches, rings, earrings, necklaces, you name it!
Here's a list of this glitzy girl's favorite sparkly staples.
...
Watches
I remember making my first "big" purchase when I found a full time job.
It seems like eons ago that I walked into the watch store and purchased a watch from my favorite designer, Michael Kors.
Since then, I swear I've only taken the watch off to sleep and shower!
If you don't like bracelets banging together I'd highly suggest a quality timepiece!

Bracelets
I'll admit I'm not big on bracelets, but when I am in the mood I break out my Mantra Bands
I've also been eyeing the stack trend that has been making a comeback!
I've been stalking Arm Candy on Instagram and will probably make a purchase soon.
I'll keep you guys updated!

Necklaces
While I have a hoard of necklaces, I still have my top two picks!
One of them being my gold medallion from Bird Bee
The other being my brand new "Elisa Gold Pendant" that I haven't taken off since I took it home from Kendra Scott!

Earrings
I probably have more earrings than I could count, but I'm totally okay with that.
While I've bought my earrings from all over, some of my best buys have been from SHEIN, Ashley Gold, and now Kendra Scott.
If you're looking for trendy and cheap, you can grab oodles of earrings on SHEIN for $4 and under.
If you're searching for impressive and expressive, Ashley Gold will hook you up!
If you love a high-quality brand name, then Kendra Scott has the styles for you!

Rings
I used to hate wearing rings before my fiance "put a ring on it" and started a ring obsession!
Aside from my engagement ring, promise ring, and Mother's promise ring, I have a fourth staple I wanted to share.
My gorgeous hand-wired rings from Hannah Rose Jewelry
Not only does she use gorgeous gemstones, but she's also a fellow Michigan babe!

My Skincare Routine

For years, if there was an issue with my skin I would be the first to freak out and desperately search the internet for the "magic cure".
...
While I still haven't found the solution to so-called "perfect skin", I have found a routine that works for me.
Thank goodness all those years of being my own guinea pig are over.
All hail beauty bloggers and their wonderful advice!
...
So why am I hording my skincare secrets all to myself??
Keep reading, and all shall be revealed!
 ...
Vitamin E
I use a bit of Derma E Vitamin E Skin Oil on a cotton round to remove my eye makeup and lipstick every night.
These sensitive areas need something soothing and rejuvenating like good 'ol Vitamin E!
After you're finished, apply just a bit under your eyes to keep those under eye circles at bay!

Apple Cider Vinegar
While I already take a tsp. of this in my tea every morning, and a couple of ACV Goli Gummies every day (because beauty starts from the inside out), I also use it topically!
I'm telling you, this stuff is my holy grail of health.
Every night after washing my face with water, I use a cotton round soaked with half water and half Bragg Organic Raw ACV to remove the rest of my makeup.
It also works as a great astringent to balance your skin's natural moisture!

Benzoyl Peroxide Cream
I apply a little CVS Benzoyl Peroxide Cream at night when I have little problems pop up.
Typically by the next morning they are either gone or close to gone!
Buh bye little buggers!
*Side Note: I only apply this to the actual acne spots, because it can be quite drying.*

My Magic Mask
I've been applying masks on a weekly basis long before the face mask craze began!
I'm super thankful I found my magic formula before "charcoal this", "cucumber that", or "real gold this" flooded the market with a million different masks to try!
My secret?
Whip that baby up, apply, and remove once hard and dry!
Your face will feel like a baby's bottom.

Lip Balm
I always begin and end my day with a few swipes of Just Bee Cosmetics "Cool" Lip Balm
It quickly restores my lips to their natural softness, and heals any dry spots or cracks.
This minty fresh balm doesn't just smell good, it's also 100% natural, and bee-friendly!

My Daily Health Essentials

Last week I had an epiphany.
...
While I'm constantly posting about the "hot" or "new" things that I'm into at the time, I realized I don't really post about my staples!
You know, the things that I use every gosh darn day.
The products that I truly trust, and will drive 30 mins out of the way to buy or pay $10 to ship next day.
Desperate times call for desperate measures...
...
So I've decided to start creating blogs to showcase my staples.
Without further ado, here is my first theme:
My Daily Health Favorites
...
If you didn't already know, I'm a health freak.
I'm that girl who spends oodles on groceries just to get all organic.
Why?
My body is literally my home and sanctuary.
You only get one body, and it should always feel great and be treated with respect!
Plus, I want to live to the ripe age of 100.
So here are the things that I swear by, and have contributed to a healthy and happy me!
...
Green Tea
Rather than coffee, I drink Uncle Lee's Tea Organic Green Tea every morning.
It gets my brain going with a healthy natural boost that doesn't come with the post-caffeine jitters.
It's an awesome antioxidant for your immune system, attributes to healthy glowing skin, and burns fat like crazy!
*Side Note: Sips by also sends a box of super beneficial teas to your door every month!*

Apple Cider Vinegar
I put a shot of Bragg Organic Raw ACV in my daily green tea.
It helps me to feel energized and ready for the day.
It also combats migraines, digestion issues, and contains a crap ton of antioxidants.
Not only that, but it kicks your metabolism into gear, aiding in weight loss!

Wild Yam Root
TMI Warning.
I've always had super painful periods and whack acne that comes with it.
Until I started taking Solaray Wild Yam Capsules each morning.
Its antispasmodic properties provide serious relief from the impending cramps and mood swings, and prevents those little surprises that love to pop up on my face!

Magnesium
I take one Nature's Answer Aquarium Plant Based Magnesium Capsule in the morning.
Magnesium is an essential mineral responsible for over 300 chemical reactions in your body.
Holy smokes.
It creates better energy, sleep, muscle function, hormone balance, and so much more!

Kombucha
I drink half a bottle of GT's Kombucha every afternoon.
It's loaded with probiotics that promote healthy gut bacteria, which controls everything from your immune system to weight, energy, mood, digestion, and skin appearance!
I truly feel like a different person after I've had my "booch"!

Personal Progress On My 2020 "Goals"

"5 Years Later..."
...
I always imagine that being said in the tone from SpongeBob.
Any other 90's kids relate with that?
Anyhow!
Not sure why everyone is saying that January has felt like it's lasted 5 years.
Personally January has flown by for me!
...
I've definitely felt rushed with getting my "New Year's Goals" in this first month.
BUT, I have made progress.
...
Here are the "goals" I set for myself, and the progress I've experienced so far!

Move Somewhere Wonderful
Finger's crossed, guys, but I think Erik and I have finally found a cute apartment we both approve of.
It even has a garage for Erik's extensive collection of outdoor crap!
*Correction*
Not crap, very valuable fine kayak specimens ;)
...
Plan A Beautiful Wedding
Wow, let me just start by saying that wedding planning is in no way glamorous.
There are way more things that go into it than you could ever imagine! Despite the difficulty, I have managed to plan everything except a handful of things.
Plus, I finally found my dress ;)

Be My Own Boss
This was more of a "by the end of year" goal, but at least I've taken steps.
I had a wonderful meeting with my PR girl, Adrienne, and I feel good about where the blog and fashion line are going!
...
Travel Somewhere New
This has been my goal for the past several years, and I've done a darn good job of keeping at it!
I've seen a new state almost every year, and I still plan on it this year.
After all, one of my ultimate goals is to see every state and several countries!

More Meditating
I've nailed this one you guys!
Whether it's in the morning shower or right before bed, I have successfully cleared my mind and relaxed for 10-15 mins a day.
Whoot!
...
Daily Gratitude Journaling
Maybe it hasn't been DAILY, but it has definitely been a few times a week.
Which is fine by me, so I'm changing it to weekly journaling!
Yes, I am allowed to change that ;)

Read More Books
While I read several really great books last year, my thirst for knowledge needs to be quenched on a bigger scale!
So, I hit up Barnes & Noble and bought some goodies.
I also ordered my dear friend's first book, "Finding Grace", which I already dove into!
...
Drink More Water
I've hardly been someone who drinks enough water.
I recently read that you need to drink half your body's weight + 15 ounces PER DAY.
That's nuts.
So, I bought myself some seriously cute water bottles from Marshalls, and so far have been hitting around 55oz!
...
I'd love to hear how January has gone for you, and what steps you've taken to get to where you want to be.
Leave a comment below!

Wishing you progress and clarity in the month to come!

Tips And Tools For A Successful 2020

Wow.
2019 was definitely one for the books.
While other years might have been challenging or difficult for me, 2019 was definitely my happiest and healthiest year yet!
Why?
How?
...
Here are my tips and tools to ensure 2020 is your best year yet!

I focused on becoming physically happy.
While I've never been one to "hit the gym", in 2019 I decided to give it a go.
I know you've heard it before that exercise creates endorphins, and endorphins make you happy.
It's true!
Not only that, but seeing the physical progress from week to week is exhilarating!
...
My tips?
Make it a goal to exercise AT LEAST once a week.
Up it to 2 or 3x if you're really feeling the benefits!
...
My tools?
Get a cheap membership somewhere like Planet Fitness, and always bring a buddy to motivate you!

I focused on becoming mentally happy.
I've struggled over the years with that nasty ego that likes to nitpick at you, and try to convince you that you aren't enough.
In 2019 I told that little voice in my head to SHUT IT!
...
My tips?
Try meditating or looking into the Law of Attraction!
Researchers say that 10-15 mins of focused thought a day is more than enough to shift your mindset.
...
My tools?
Try meditating to a podcast like Mindful In Minutes, or listening to Love Your Life + Law Of Attraction!

I focused on becoming emotionally happy.
I don't know about you, but I tend to stress about Every. Little. Thing.
The more I have going on, the worse I feel.
In 2019 I made a pact to make life more simple, and become organized.
...
My tips?
De-clutter your life, you do not need to do EVERYTHING or attend EVERY event.
Keep better track of what you do have going on.
...
My tools?
Try keeping a planner, like one from Lovet Agency's collection, or actually use that little calendar in your phone!

Take our tips and tools, and let us know how they work for you!

My Secret To Holiday Shopping!

The holidays are quickly approaching, and we all know what that means.
The mad rush for gift giving is about to begin!
In my experience, I've come to learn that there are two types of holiday shoppers.
...
First, there are the "Gifting Go-Getters".
The people who are out picking presents months in advance, and already have them wrapped by the 1st of December.
...
Second, there are the "Present Procrastinators".
The people who are rushing around on Black Friday, filling their carts to the brim with anything they may find at the last minute.
...
Thankfully, I happen to be the the first of the two.
If you're the second and want to know my secret, I'm about to reveal it now.
...
 I shop small.
...
No, I don't give small gifts, or think small in my gifting. I shop local businesses!
...
I finished all my Santa shopping at the Handcrafter's Fall Fair, filled with independent owners with one of a kind, unique, handcrafted goods that no one else will be gifting.
....
Not only will I have the most unique gift, but I also had the upper hand of having face-to-face conversations with the makers and owners, who gave great advice on choosing the perfect gift.
...
I also know that their goods are quality, because they spent their hard-earned time and money into creating the most perfect product they could.
...
My favorite part of shopping small? In the words of my friend Sarah, "I avoid the Purge-like crowds of people who will do anything to get their hands on a cheap flat screen TV!"
...
I had a very calm, relaxing, warm, and friendly shopping experience like no other. Which is the ultimate remedy for this stressful time of the year.
...
If that sounds like your cup of tea, you have one last chance to attend these markets! Head to the Handcrafter's Holiday Tinsel & Treasures Market at the Northville Community Center on December 13th-15th.

Some personal recommendations would be:

Happy Shopping & Happy Holidays!

Detroit Foodie Fair!

Our mom said the funniest thing the other day. She said "It's sad how when you get older, the biggest thing you look forward to is food!" When she finished, Emily and I looked right at one another and simultaneously said "We feel that way now!"
...
I think people of all ages can agree that food is one of the finest aspects of life! A certain taste or smell can bring memories of a certain time, place, or person, and trying something new is always a fun and exciting experience!
...
A few weeks ago, we decided to try something new and joined the best flavor makers, purveyors, and artisans of Detroit and surrounding areas, all under one roof at Eastern Market's Shed 5, for the Detroit Foodie Fair, the area's first public Certified Local Food Event! We found an array scrumptious bites, hand-crafted kitchen wares, unique food related goods, and more to take home with us!
...
Our parents hit up the taco truck for their first fresh street tacos, and then went on to try their first beignets! They were so thrilled, and claimed they felt like the tastes transported them to different places. Sharing things like that with my family just makes me smile.
...
Emily and I went a little crazy and tried:

Pop Daddy Popcorn's hand-seasoned small batch popcorn with non-GMO corn!
Their Garlic Popcorn with ruby red kernels and pure olive oil was just the addicting guilt-free snack we needed!
...
Happy Girl Granola's handmade granola that's always crunchy but never sticky!
Their Pumpkin Pie Spice Granola was the best way to start the season with some new fall flavors!
...
Sugah Shack Sweet's small batch artisan confections!
Their Chocolate Turtles & White Buttah Fingah Sugah Bark were just the sinful sweets that we've been craving!
...
Whey Better Bakery's high protein and gluten free baked goods!
Their Edible Cookie Dough Pops and Peanut Butter Cups were just the right bit of sweetness to satisfy a sweet tooth without all that gluten!
...
Simple Times Mixer's all natural, handcrafted cocktail mixtures!
Their Cranberry Apple Cider Mule was the perfect fall drink on it's own, but it could be mixed with one part rum or whiskey!
...
Belledine's Barbeque Sauce's all natural barbeque sauce that's not just for grilling!
Their Heat Seekers Delight complimented so many dishes as a tasty dip!
...
Little Diablo Salsa's all natural salsa made without chemicals or anything artificial!
We tried several of their gluten free and Kosher certified salsas with their brand new tortilla chips!
...
Country Homes Creation's selection of handcrafted gourmet mixes and dips!
We tried everything from their Artichoke & Spinach Dip, to Cranberry Walnut Dip, to Garlic Asiago Dip, to Carrot Cake Dip, and it was all delicious!
...
...
Here's to many more memories made from family time and good food!
...
