Have Some LipSense!

I'm kind of a big skeptic when it comes to beauty products. I've tried a million different products that have promised me a million different things. Do I always get the results that they say I will? Nah. Not at all.
...
I have a reputation for being gullible.
...
Oh come on, I'm sure some of you have ordered a so-called "miracle cream" or two. If not, then lucky you for not learning your lesson the hard way :P I learned mine the expensive way, and since then have been a tough one to crack.
...
Until I did it again.
Sigh.
...
I've been stalking LipSense for awhile now. I read that it's supposedly "kissproof, smudgeproof, and waterproof." SURE. It followed by saying it was "Vegan and does not test on animals." Wonderful! It then ended with this statement: "GMO, wax, gluten, and led free." I had to do a double take after that one.
...
So it's perfect is what you're saying?
...
So after some minimal convincing, I ordered a Fly-Girl red shade from the lovely Aletha of 4GBeautyBar. She's now my main girl. Let's just say I'm in love. Yes, LipSense truly is everything that it claims it is. So if you'd like lipstick that all dreams are made of, then Aletha can be your girl too ;)

Dedicated Magazine!

I've read my fair share of magazines. Something about getting one through the mail every month was very exciting as a kid. Over the years, I've had subscriptions to Vogue, Seventeen, Cosmo Girl, Alternative Press, etc. As glamourous as it felt to read them, I couldn't truly relate to them. I didn't wear their brands, attend their events, or personally know their celebrities. As awful as this sounds, I wasn't even ever impressed by their fashions. To be honest my favorite part was the horoscopes and wall posters of my man crush, Brendon Urie. And if you don't know who he is, we can't be friends.
...
 Just kidding!
He's the lead singer of Panic At The Disco. Look him up, you won't regret it.
...
It's been awhile since a magazine has caught my attention. That's until my friend Cheryl Zemke, designer of C3 Creations, told me she was venturing into the magazine world. I was invited to be featured in an upcoming issue, and weeks later shot it at the Lavender Labyrinth up in Shelby, Michigan. Last month I ordered their premier issue, and was pleasantly surprised! I could relate to everything. The brands were made in Michigan, the events were local, and the fashions were fashionable! I even personally knew the designers and models ;)
...
Plus, my nose graces the back cover.
No big deal.
...
So if you like to relate to a magazine like I do, try Dedicated Magazine. And keep a look out for their January issue ;)

Verizon Rooftop Party!

Being a blogger, I've been to my fair share of parties. After you've attended 5,393,846, you get the gist of what makes a good one. So here's my checklist for all you beginners ;) Venue, crowd, food, music, activities, and goodie bags. If you manage to get all those right?
...
Well, you're a winner.
...
Verizon sure knew how to win me over. Their Connect Detroit party was held on the rooftop of the Madison Building downtown. We had an astonishing view of the sunset over the city, and Comerica Park. Venue? Check. Those who attended were bloggers, business moguls, some of the coolest photographers I know, and some I had the chance to meet. Crowd? Check! Even though I didn't personally have any, I heard the food was phenomenal.
...
What? Taking pictures takes priority over eating. Sometimes...
...
So food was a check. The DJ played some great tracks, and a lot of people were jamming out and dancing. Check. They had this awesome photo booth set up that Emily and I naturally took advantage of. Activity check. Lastly, my goodie bag held a high tech convertible wireless charging stand. Now that's what I'm talking about. Needless to say, it was the best party we've attended thus far! Thanks for having us Verizon

Blogger Meet Up!

It's funny how life plays out sometimes. Last year I posted a picture of being on Harsen's Island, somewhere I've spent many beautiful summers. A blogger I followed named Nicole then commented that she spent her summers there as well! And she currently lived all the way in Tennessee.
...
What a small world!
...
Time had passed, and I continued to follow along with Nicole's blogging adventures. Then about a month ago I received a message from Nicole that she would be spending August on the island and wanted to do a blogger meet up. So after many emails over dates and creative ideas, Em and I headed to Harsen's!
...
We sat off the lake at her parent's beautiful cottage and talked hobbies, work, blogging, and social media. Nicole is a sweet, talented, and hilarious blogger who also runs her own successful web and graphic design business! She spends her winters in Tennessee, and summers on Harsen's with her lovely parents, husband, and the most photogenic cats I've ever seen. Her and her neighbors call themselves the Harsen's Island Social Club, and together they chat, watch for freighters, and enjoy neighborhood cookouts! She started the tradition of designing a yearly Sili Pint for everyone in the club, and was so sweet to give Emily and I two of our own. She also loves biking, barr, yoga, traveling, and blogging as a Schwinn ambassador! She recently even went to a Schwinn getaway in Nantucket! After chatting, we then spent hours playing dress up, posing, pretending to laugh for photos, and then would burst out in actual laughter over how silly we felt!
...
My face hurt from smiling by the end of the day.
...
All in all I'm so very happy to have gotten the chance to meet up. Thank you to Nicole and your family for welcoming us into your home, and for a wonderful time! We can't wait to see you again next summer!

Check out Nicole on her Insta, Blog, and website!
