Matcha Cupcakes!

Ever since I discovered green tea, it has become a morning staple of mine. Wake up, get ready, eat breakfast, and have a cup of green tea and honey. Side note: I use honey as a substitute for sugar because it is just as sweet, but also a healthier option! In this constant drinking of green tea, I've noticed an overall improvement in my complexion, energy level, and weight loss! Recently, I was introduced to a whole new world of tea; matcha tea. This tea is made by steaming, drying, and crushing green tea leaves into a fine, vibrant green powder. Because of this, there's a slight difference in the preparation of green tea and matcha. Instead of steeping the loose leaves, you mix the powdered matcha with hot water more like a hot cocoa mix! Since I found matcha, I've noticed that matcha has been gaining a lot of momentum. Here's just a few reasons why. Matcha has as many antioxidants as 10 cups of regular green tea! It offers an energy boost equivalent to that of coffee, but without the jitters or caffeine crash. It also serves as a great dye and flavoring for traditional recipes like lemonades, noodles, and ice creams. Last week, my boyfriend and I found a packet of matcha recipes inside the canister of tea, and decided to try the cupcake frosting recipe! It was a delicious treat like none I've ever had before, and incredibly easy and fun to make!  Check it out, I'd highly suggest trying some tea and the frosting recipe for yourself!

Healthy Eating And Oatmeal Muffins!

My mother has always been the "head chef" of the house for as long as I can remember. My father has a knack for cooking as well, but mom's always been in charge. I can't remember a time when I haven't sat at my kitchen table chatting with my mom while she cooked or baked for my family and I. Because I had a so-to-say "personal chef", I never had an urge to learn how to cook before I reached my twenties. In the past couple of years I've acquired a strong yearning to learn how to provide a delicious meal for myself and my loved ones. I've also become a strong supporter of healthy eating, and incredibly knowledgeable on what is going into my body and how it will affect it. In college, I did my fair amount of research on the difference between GMO'S (Genetically Modified Organisms), artificial ingredients, pesticides, preservatives, and all natural, organic, and raw foods. Now, I'm a fashion major not a health major, so I'm no expert. I only delved into the subject for the purpose of improving my own well being, and the healthy habits in my home. To wrap this all up, I'd like to share with you my own healthy recipe experiences for all those fellow health nuts and food enthusiasts! Maybe I can help to improve the quality of someone else's diet as well! Here's a recipe I found for banana oatmeal breakfast muffins, and step-by-step pictures of my baking trial!

Try using some organic ingredients like the bananas, oats, or applesauce!
Fill the cups slightly higher than shown. The muffins hardly rise when baked.
Some other toppings you could use could be blueberries, chocolate chips, or dried cranberries!
I found that if you bake them for 5 extra minutes than the recipe, they come out much better!
The recipe makes 18 scrumptious muffins. Time to enjoy!

Off To Vegas, Baby!

I'll just start off by saying that I have a minor obsession for traveling. Alright, admittedly I have a major obsession for it! My largest goal is to travel to every state in the US in my lifetime. So far, I've been everywhere from Hawaii to Maryland, Illinois to Indiana, Pennsylvania to Florida, and many more. So naturally, when my best girlfriend asked me to go to Las Vegas, Nevada with her, I excitedly accepted! Traveling is momentarily living a different lifestyle. This includes unique weather, foods, attractions, and most importantly; style. Everytime I travel, I bring a little bit of new style back home with me. I love broadening my horizons, and incorporating new style into my mental wardrobe. The countdown begins, and I now have only 2 weeks (yes, ONLY) to pack for this trip. To me, this means that I have little time to select the perfect outfits for each day of my trip. I thought that it would be fun to share some of these outfits with you, so I included them below! So far, I have 4 sightseeing outfits, 2 going out outfits, and 2 festival outfits for the Rock In Rio music festival we'll be attending! I hope you enjoy this first look at my sense of style, and follow my adventures in Viva Las Vegas!

Hello, Blogging Life!

Hello Blogging Life, once again! I'll start out by a short introduction of myself and my intentions of this blog. My name is Brittany, and I am a recent graduate in Fashion Design and Merchandising, and a lover of all things fashion. I discovered my first blog and the fashion blogging world my first year of college. It was everything I ever wanted to do in life rolled into one. Whether it's fashion blogging, modeling, photography, designing, styling, illustrating, or even shopping, my life revolves around it. Now fashion isn't my only "passion" I wish to share. I also have a strong love of travel, food, healthy living, and achieving all of this by living a life of positivity. Now I wasn't experienced enough in any of those categories then, but 3 years later I like to think I've improved on some of those areas! I plan on making this blog a mixture of all of the above! I hope to share my journey with people who share my love of these things. Let's let the journey begin!
