Welcome To District Detroit!

Welcome to District Detroit. 50 blocks of dense urban development, consisting of sports, entertainment, shopping, and dining. Completely walkable, with the option of a QLine transportation system. The first block in America to have 4 professional teams, soon to be 5 with the addition of soccer. The creme de la creme is the Little Ceasers Arena. 20,000 seats with 60 suites, twice as steep as the Joe, with gondola seating hanging from the rafters. A players club, where players walk right through a glass hallway open to restaurant view. Red wings banners swaying from the ceiling, that roll up when the Pistons need to roll down. A store that flips between themes of Detroit, Red Wings, Pistons, and concerts. Outside, a glass covered public street open 365 days a year. Access to restaurants, cafes, shops, art shows, flower sales, and much more. Across the street, a 5 star boutique hotel with 200 rooms up to major league standards. To top it all off? A parking lot with an app that lets you reserve a parking space from home. Sounds incredible doesn't it? So incredible, that by the time it's done it will have cost the Ilitch family 2.5 billion. How do I know all of this? I was given the opportunity to take a backstage tour with Travel Massive and Visit Detroit of everything going into District Detroit. I can hardly wait to see it all come together. So thank you to Travel Massive and Visit Detroit for having me, and to Mike Ilitch for the legacy you have left our city.
