Brunching At The Inn At St. Johns!

Emily and I recently spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon having brunch with some of the loveliest local bloggers. The event was held at The Inn at St. John's by blogger of Glamorous Moms, Detroit Fashion News, and owner of The Lazov Agency, Shannon Lazov. Their Executive Chef, Sean Mohan, talked us through the menu as we dined in their restaurant, 5ive Steakhouse. I took a few sips of their beautiful mimosa options and ate Belgian waffles covered in berries and whipped butter. Then it was time to tour the gorgeous hotel and banquet spaces.
...
After that filling brunch spread, we opted to take the stairs xD
...
Our guide was the incredibly witty and informative Executive of Food & Beverage. To sum up the immense history and beauty we witnessed on his tour, I'll say this: The Inn at St. John’s was opened in the 1940s as a Provincial Seminary, and was used as this for 40 years. In 2000, the Inn redeveloped its space for conferences, weddings, receptions and Catholic celebrations. With its stunning Grande ballroom, two regal ballrooms, a two-story Atrium room, breathtaking chapel, modern gym, and intimate pool, it was one of the most impressive places I have ever been. We absolutely plan to take a trip back!

Spend your special moments at The Inn at St. John's if you're looking for terrific service, rich history, luxury, and the AAA Diamond experience!

Joining The Trend45 Fam!

Two weeks ago, Emily, Erik, and I spent the weekend up in beautiful Glen Arbor Michigan, just outside of Traverse City. We drove 5.5 hours in one of the most intense winter storms we've had this year, hoping the trip would be worth the drive. We had recently joined a group called Trend45, and were staying with them for their Midwinter Manor event. There, we would creatively collaborate with other photographers, models, bloggers, designers, and videographers at a stunning resort right on Lake Michigan. I've never been a big fan of winter, but winter had never looked so good.
...
The ski hills were glittering with fresh powdered snow, the tall, thin, symmetrical pines streched on for miles, the frozen waves of Lake Michigan curled over the beach in glacier-like formations, and the sunset was casting a gorgeous orange glow on the manor.
...
Excuse my French, but ****.
That's as Pure Michigan as it gets.
...
We spent 2.5 days there exploring the great outdoors, hitting the slopes (and posing on them, hehe), running in and out trying to keep warm between shoots, venturing out to the middle of frozen lakes, and taking our fair share of tumbles on the ice and snow!
...
Needless to say, it was well worth the drive. Trend45 was just the adventure we had been craving. We were welcomed in as family, created wonderful new friendships, and cultivated old ones. Thank you to Remy for creating such an original experience, and thank you to everyone at Trend45 for having us! You can expect to see us at many future events ;)

Happy Girl Granola!

Can we just talk about how great that granola looks?
...
If your mouth isn't watering after scrolling past all of that, there's something terribly wrong with you.
 ...
Emily sure stepped up her photography game with this shoot. We really wanted to showcase just how delicious we discovered this granola to be, and I think we accomplished our goal. Happy Girl Granola truly is the best granola I have ever tasted. It was wonderfully crunchy, with chewy cherries, chocolate chips, nuts, and just the right amount of sweetness. I sprinkled it over my yogurt, sliced apples with peanut butter, and ate it by the handful. Let's jusy say my stock was quickly depleted.
...
A tear or two may have been shed.
...
Happy Girl Granola was founded by Michigan girl Aly, who happens to be as sweet as her treats. "With a focus on local ingredients and seasonally inspired flavor combinations", Happy Girl Granola is "made by hand in small batches."
...
A true testament of just how tasty "Made in Michigan" can be!
